- Extra half brite denise? I can't recall that, is that something to do with the

- on A500s and was essentially the same as the OCS for most software. I am sure
- the $'s that chip brought in made CBM a lot of profit. :) Oops, almost forgot,
- the ECS Denise allowed border blanking, can't leave out that. :)

- They, referring to CBM, are not the same people as AT. Well.. :) The money to
- be made from old users upgrading paula is not significant. Any software base
- development would be in the area of games which don't last long anyway and
- wouldn't be compatible with a PPC amiga.
-

-
- 16 bit sound would be nice but really it is just keeping up with the Jones.
- Games hardly use 8 bit sound let alone 16 bit and that is because they have to
- use floppies. HD floppies would just mean a few less disks to swap. With
- CDROMs perhaps it would be used but that doesn't mean it would be noticeably
- different or better. Right now the only way to play an AGA game from a CDROM
- is to use a CD32 anyway (few exceptions).
-
- People would upgrade to it sure but they wouldn't be able to do it themselves,
- not with SMD. It would be more along the lines of customer relations than
- making money on the part of AT, it improves little. A new version of Octamed
- is hardly a revolution in the software base. :) About the only significant
- thing this might do is to bring back a few musicians to the amiga.
-
- You think it would help you out but it won't. When you finally get your a1200
- or whatever you will find that a hard drive pretty much eliminates the need for
- floppies. This new paula would not be able to be used on your a1000 you know.
- Basically, talk to me after you have used a hard drive on your amiga, better
- yet after you have used a terminal program with it.
